I’ve had a very interesting week dealing with a variety of departments in the federal government trying to get a copy of one of my mother’s income tax slips. It challenged me to remain in my divine power as a greater being. I had hunted high and low for the slip and concluded it had never arrived in our mail.
So I spent close to 6 hours over 3 days searching the internet and contacting 5 departments, including one that I went to and was able to speak to someone face to face (although he had to refer me to another department to telephone to get the slip sent).
I finally got the information I needed and a replacement slip on its way. Hooray!
Because it’s such a busy time of year, I kept getting caught up in loops trying to get me to use the automated system, but I eventually figured out how to get thru to a live person. Everyone was pleasant and helpful within the scope of their abilities.
The one department that could have helped me right away, couldn’t give me information because a form I had sent in February with a copy of my power of attorney apparently hadn’t been completed properly and there was no indication on the computer they could talk to me as her representative. Unfortunately they had not sent me a notice that the form wasn’t accepted. They were the one department of Revenue Canada where there is never access to a live person. All interaction has to be done by snail mail.
I had sent the same information to the other departments and they were able to talk to me. Kudos to Services Canada and Veterans Affairs.
So was I annoyed by it all?
Actually thanks to connecting with my Divine Self, I was patient and knew I would eventually get the information I needed. The universe always ensures I have helpful people. I was grateful everyone was trying their best so that when I finally got the information, I would be able to send her tax return by the deadline. I was quite anxious that I would miss the deadline and have to pay a penalty, since she ended up paying this year because I can’t claim her medical deductions until I submit some more forms. There is something about dealing with taxes that makes me dig deep inside to gain equanimity if I’m not coming from highest consciousness.
I made it my goal to be pleasant and let everyone I spoke with know how much I appreciated their assistance, especially since they were so busy. The waits to speak with a live person if you were lucky enough to get into the queue were up to 20 minutes. I believe my gratitude helped improve their day.
So this morning as I got her return ready to mail guess what?
With the Canadian income tax you get slips that have a section for you to keep and one to send to the government. I was tearing the forms apart and in the slew of slips I tore of one and realized it was the missing slip!!!! Had it magically appeared?
I knew I had a choice. I could get annoyed at myself that I had wasted all that time and created anxiety, but I actually laughed.
Then I wondered why did I create the need to contact all these people? I suspect it was so that I could let them know how valuable their service was and send the energy out that we need to have the ability to speak with real people. I know the government has closed some Services Canada offices and I am really visioning they keep the one I went to open. They were there for me when my father passed, compassionately giving out the forms I needed and suggesting services where my mom could get extra income if she qualified. I have gone to them when I am confused about other services or even to renew a passport rather than using the mail service. I think they realize people can be intimidated by the government (or is that just me?) and go out of their way to put you at ease.
So I decided to share this experience with you, (although you probably don’t need it) to remind you to:
- live divinely in the highest conscious frequency you can connect with in challenging situations. In doing so you see the divine spark in people you are interacting with.
- Gratitude is said to be one of the highest vibrations so find something to appreciate and be grateful for.
- Look for the good in every situation.
- Remember you have a choice of how to react.
- And expect the best outcome.

P.S. I'm thinking of making an Easter Bonnet like the one in the picture. What do you think? Have a Divine Week.
