Celebrate May Day  with  Contemplation and Ritual

  May Day is half way between spring equinox and summer solstice .  Here are 3 practices you can use to celebrate the divine connection of this day. 

 I recently learned that some past cultures celebrated every 6 weeks to enhance the sense of community and uplift the spirits. What a great idea!
Although I suggest celebrating each day as if it were a festival, If you wish to ensure even more fun in your life, you may wish to establish your own tradition of celebrating according to the cycles of nature.  

 May Day  is  traditionally celebrated as a holiday with parades, maypole dances, feasts and rituals.  It is associated with fertility, growth and abundance. In the Celtic and pagan communities it is known as Beltane which means bright fire.  People danced around bonfires, decorated flowering may bushes with ribbons.   Holy wells were often visited at Beltane,   Visitors to holy wells would pray for health while walking sunwise (moving from east to west) around the well.  The first water drawn from a well on Beltane was seen as being especially potent, as was Beltane morning dew. At dawn on Beltane, maidens would roll in the dew or wash their faces with it. It would also be collected in a jar, left in the sunlight, and then filtered. The dew was thought to increase sexual attractiveness, maintain youthfulness, and help with skin ailments   (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beltane)

Here are some examples of contemplative experiences that people have used to celebrate this May day  or Beltane festival. 
                                                                                                                                
Honor the divine feminine aspects of the universe including your female ancestors.  

1. Light a candle as a representation of the light of the universe and connection with the All That IS.

2. Connect with the earth energies and tell our holy mother earth you love and respect her, express your gratitude for all she has brought you.   
3. Consider women who have embodied the divine sacred feminine energies in history and myth.  They may be saints, goddesses or wise women.  Connect with their energies and feel imbuing into every cell of your essence. 

4.Honor the sacred divine feminine energy that has touched your life. Name the women who have made a difference in your life, and significant quality they touched you with   eg.
I honour Jean who birthed me and shared her deep love and magic with flowers, trees and gardens. 
I honour Olive my aunt, who showed me to maintain strength and humor during times of adversity .
I honour Marie, my aunt, who lived in loyalty.  
Include grandmothers and great grandmothers if you resonate with their energies and gifts.

 Be sure to include yourself.  Here is an example you may wish to use
“I am (your name), and I honor myself,
for my strength, my creativity, my knowledge, my inspiration,
and for all the other remarkable things that make me a woman.

Take a few minutes and reflect on the sacred feminine. What is it about being a woman that gives you joy? If you're a man performing this ritual, what is it about the women in your life that makes you love them? Plant the seeds of intention and abundance in the soil of your soul

Spring Equinox or May Day is a good time for planting seeds of your own on the path of your life.  New ventures may be aided by the spirit of life and growth that abound.

I have included a guided visualization you can use below, or you can actually start seeds for your garden in a ritual where you designate desires for your life with each seed you plant.  Here is a wonderful script to use as you plant the seeds.

 Abundance ritual
"Tonight I plant seeds in the earth,
but Beltane is a time in which many things can grow.
Tonight I plant seeds in my heart and soul ,
for other things I wish to see blossom.
I plant the seeds of love, of wisdom, of happiness.
I dig deep, and begin a crop of harmony, balance, and joy.
I add water to bring life and abundance of all kinds into my home.

Place your abundance and intention order with the universe
 

1.  Write down and verbalize whatever you abundance you wish to actualize in your life. It could relate to relationships, career, health, financial security, or even material goods.

2.   I recommend also stating theses desires out loud.

3.   Burn your paper so the energy rises into the ethers . Its like placing an amazon order only its going to the universe for manifesting.  If you cannot burn it, let the candle or smoke from some incense  carry the intention.  Visualize your life as having these qualities or desires here and now, using all your senses and feelings.

4.    I usually say “I release this intention and these words to the universal laws, knowing there is power in what I speak and write.  I know this is manifesting now and I am grateful.” If you did the first contemplation, Call on the feminine energy and energy of your ancestors to enhance the actualization of these desires.

  Become the observer to avoid  overwhelm  and ACHIEVE clarity in 5 easy steps

Heres a great way to overcome overwhelm, calm yourself and achieve clearer thoughts when you are triggered by situations that would have lowered your vibrations before you became aware of your Divine Beingness. 


 


This practice will move you into higher vibration energy where you can come up with healthy solutions to interact with people and experiences that may otherwise drag you into lower vibration reaction.

 When you are in a situation where you want to respond as your Divine self: 
1. Imagine that you are standing across the room and observing your “self`s” actions, compassionately, in an unconditionally accepting manner. 

2. Notice how you feel as the watcher.  Is your stomach tight? Is there a lump in your throat?  Is your breathing shallow? 
 If your watcher experiences these symptoms, it is emotionally attached to the situation.  

3. In this case, become the Observer watching the watcher. Observe that first watcher, notice its physical signs, then check in with yourself as the Observer - watching the watcher.  You will likely notice that as the Observer, you are an impartial viewer with no anxiety.  

4. From this perspective you can choose your highest conscious responses and actions for the best divine outcome for all involved

Have fun practicing this in situations that are flowing easily and you will be able to effortlessly slip into watcher or observer mode when you desire.

Need to  Let Go of the Need to Control  Every Part of  Life?   Start with this Fun  Exercise

How flexible and spontaneous are you?  Do you need to be in control of most moments of your life? Or are you able to go with the flow of what comes and enjoy with pleasure, eagerly anticipating in every moment?  


When I ask this last question, it begs reflection on my belief of the importance  of living in the moment.   Living in the past even if it was great,drains energy and prevents you from living a high vibing life now!  But in truth, I do advise people to spend time in the morning setting intentions and visualizing their preferred day.  And although I live more and more in joy, choosing whats fun and enlivening in each moment, I must confess, I do salivate at the thought of whats even more coming up.  It keeps my juices flowing and my cells bopping.  

I guess the difference between this and spending time in the future, is that I am letting go of rigid control of making it happen my way.  I am not so focused on how its going to happen that I miss whats happening now.  I know generally that I want a meeting to be easy and effortless and a super creative experience for all, with outcomes that surpass anything than we could ever imagine.  Then I let go and let it unfold, divinely.  And so it does.


If you would like to let go of some of the control in your life, here's a fun easy way to start. 
  • Take yourself on a date to the nearest dollar store or if you are a stationary store aficionado like moi, get thyself to a Staples.  
  • Purchase a mega size box of crayons, and a pad of unlined paper, or colouring book. Alternately, you can go online and google colouring pages to get some adorable ones.  
  • Set aside a half hour and colour.  Set the intention to really get into this and use all your senses,  Feel the wax, Smell  the crayons,  Imagine (or remember) the taste. Listen to the sound of your colouring,  Notice how heavily or softly you are pressing.  

NOW, get a little wild and let go of control:  Notice whether you feel comfortable or maybe a bit tense, as you try these
  • Start by selecting colours that would not normally be appropriate for the picture you are colouring.  
  • Pretend you have never held a crayon, pen, pencil etc.  Hold the crayon in your fist, and move your whole forearm - keep your wrist stiff.
  • Now, loosen your arm and feel the flow and just colour on the side of the page where there is no picture.  Use many colours, let your wild 'artiste'  take over
  • Take a deep breath and deliberately colour outside the lines.  If you hear your inner voices chiding you, tell them: "It's ok, I am just experimenting".  It doesn't mean you are letting go of control of your life!  Relax, feel the freedom.   

If this activity is easy, then congratulations.  If you are a bit tense, turn on some dance music, take a plain piece of paper and scribble, until you feel the walls around your perfectionist being crack, you relax and actually feel free and exhilarated. Yee Ha!

Tips for  Managing Situations and People with   lower Vibration Energy

If you are in an environment with negative people or tense situations here are a couple of quick helpful hints to boost your own vibrations, so you can act from  higher consciousness. 


 1. Choose to disengage  by excusing yourself and going to the washroom for a couple of minutes to manage your thoughts and emotions.  
  • On the way there, breathe and feel yourself expanding.   
  • Wash your hands and imagine that low vibration energy is moving from your body and field, into your hands and leaving your body.  Feel it washing down the drain. 
  • Take another couple of deep breath and imagine pristine white high vibration energy revivifying you.  
  • You may want to breath in the pink energy of love for yourself and send it to those you were interacting with.      
 You can also imagine this when you are taking a shower, before or after a stressful day. 

When you are in an environment where there are a lot of unconscious people with lower vibrations and you feel your energy is being drained:

 2.  Imagine cleaning off low vibration energy from your body while standing under a beautiful refreshing waterfall.  
  • See yourself with a comb, and as you run it through your hair, all energy of disagreeable thoughts or fears are removed from your mind. 
  • Now feel the highest energy of the water, mother earth and the cosmos, energizing and revitalizing you as you visualize your body, thoughts emotions and spirit becoming clear and purified.  
  • Imagine the people you are with who are in lower vibration energy, standing in the waterfall too (as in the picture above)  Contact their higher selves, and send them your higher vibes.   
  • See the energy shifting so the situation you were in is transformed and flows easily and effortlessly for the best outcomes for all.

Today is the day where you can achieve the ultimate relaxation tool.  How to totally relax in just a couple of breaths.  Imagine what this will do for your life.  How much easier it will be to stay in your divine being, or returning to its higher frequencies if you temporarily slip into old programs.
 
You may have to work on not melting into the floor though!  ;)
Today you can start on a couch again, then be ready to sit up in a relaxed position
